Aunt Djaataa Status
I have been an auntie for over a decade and I am just now figuring out my role as an Auntie. My new niece(new to me but she is 2 years old) came over to spend some quality time with us also known as babysitting. We had a fabulous time and dinner rolled around and she ate and it was GREAT. Then she looks at her uncle and then at me and says,” Finished, time for desert Aunt Djaataa I will help you make it.” Now how did she know I was making desert, how did she know desert was not already made. Nevertheless we commenced to look for all the ingredients to make the perfect oatmeal cookie ( of course aunt Djaataa came up short 1 ingredient but other than that I was prepared). My husband was enjoying the fact that I got tricked into making cookies on my night off from the kitchen. But they turned out great and at the end of the night Aunt Djaataa prevailed.
**This moment in my life reminds me of time spent with my grandmother and the recipes that she shared with me. It brings joy to me to be able to share this with my family.***
Recipe as follows:

- 1 1/2 cup of what (gluten-free flour)
- 2 eggs
- 1 stick and 6 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tsp baking soda

The add the dry mix to the wet mixture and mix together nice and good then add the oatmeal and whatever other fun items like raisins or walnuts. The pop in the oven for 12-15 mins or until golden brown and make sure to put the oven on 350. Enjoy!!!!!
